World Obstacle has adopted the World Anti-Doping Agency Code (the “Code”). FISO Anti-Doping Rules are adopted and implemented in compliance with FISO’s responsibilities under the Code and are in furtherance of FISO’s continuing efforts to prevent doping in Obstacle Sports.
Anti-Doping Rules are sport rules governing the conditions under which sport is played. Athletes and other persons accept these rules as a condition of participation and are bound by them. These rules and procedures, enforce policies in a globally harmonized manner, and are not subject to or limited by any national requirements and legal standards applicable to criminal proceedings or employment matters.
When reviewing the facts and the law of a given case, all courts, arbitral tribunals and other adjudicating bodies should respect the anti-doping rules in the Code and that these rules represent the consensus of stakeholders around the world.
Equality and safety are of paramount importance to the federations and FISO does not tolerate hate speech or actions. Behaviour counter to principles of sport will result in sanctions/exclusion/disqualification of individuals and or organisations.
The purpose of diversity guidelines is to encourage inclusivity and fairness for all athletes, non-binary or not.
The policies of World Obstacle regarding non-binary athletes follow the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommendations and are under advice of the World Obstacle Diversity Committee.
The IOC Framework on Fairness, Inclusion and Non-discrimination on the basis of gender identity and sex variations provides a guideline for event producers and national federations.
FISO members and staff are bound by the code of ethics. This details the ethical principles of FISO, based on the core values and the standards to which the members shall be held. The Code is applicable to the following persons:
Each of the above persons being referred to hereinafter shall be to as a ‘Party’.
Ethics matters are reviewed by the World Obstacle Ethics Panel.
