The 12th FISO Congress voted in March 2026 to approve the integration of FISO into the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM), achieving an important step toward the unification of obstacle sports throughout the world within the Olympic movement.

The Congress voted to disband FISO to enable full integration into the UIPM. Disbandment went into effect on August 10, 2026, at the conclusion of the OCR World Championships.
