World Obstacle signs partnership agreement with MEI to boost its participation in the global sports events market
Lausanne, Olympic Capital, Switzerland: World Obstacle, Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO) and Major Events International (MEI) signed an agreement today to increase the presence of obstacle sports in the global sports events calendar.
This initiative focuses on consolidating market profiles, reviewing bid processes, fostering sponsorship opportunities, approaching new partners, providing support to host cities for the events, and collaborating with the growth of national federations.
Dennis Mills CEO of MEI said: “We are delighted to be working with World Obstacle on their ambitious plans to promote and grow participation in Obstacle Sports at all levels to standards mandated by the International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic committee. A new brand, big ambitions and clear vision have set the scene for the next significant development of this comparatively young international federation’s contribution to the values of sport including diversity and contribution to health. This approach is attractive to aspirant host cities and new commercial partnerships and we look forward to playing a role supporting the continued success of World Obstacle.“
FISO President Ian Adamson added: “MEI has proven to be a powerful platform for business development that has impacted the world of sports. This partnership coincides with World Obstacle launching world series’ in Obstacle Course Racing, Ninja Competitions and Adventure Racing. Timing is perfect with the growth of Obstacle Sports globally, including an obstacle event chosen as the 5th discipline of Modern Pentathlon and being tested for inclusion in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.”
