MISSION
The Mission of World Obstacle is to promote the Obstacle Sports including, but not limited to Ninja, Obstacle Course Racing, Adventure Racing, and Fitness Racing throughout the world, to lead Obstacle Sports, and meet the requirements as specified by the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee. World Obstacle promotes World Series, World Cups, and World Championships in each sport for our member federations and their athlete members.

WHO WE ARE
Formalized in 2018 in Switzerland and granted Observer Status of GAISF (the Global Association of International Sports Federations, now AIMS) in 2021, World Obstacle, the Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO), is a not-for-profit independent international organisation made up of volunteers to develop Ninja, Obstacle Course Racing (OCR), Adventure Racing (AR), and Fitness Racing, and represent the needs of its members. Member national federations in over 100 countries represent their athletes and members in the FISO Congress and propose and vote on policies and rules for their benefit. The Congress and Executive Committee are responsible for taking the main decisions for the organisation and implement recommendations for each sport.

The goals of World Obstacle are to contribute to the greater good of humanity through participation in sport, without discrimination or bias of any kind. We aim to facilitate mutual understanding, collaboration, friendship and fairness between the athletes and all parties of interest. World Obstacle’s primary goal is to make better humans through Sport.

World Obstacle sanctions and produces world and continental championships and events for including the UNAA Ninja World Series & World Series Finals; Ninja World Cups, World Cup Final & World Championships; A1 World Cups, World Cup Finals & Expedition Racing World Championships; OCR World Championships, Spartan World Championships, World’s Toughest Mudder 24-Hour OCR World Championships, European Championships, Asia-Pacific Championships, & Pan American Championships, and events at International Multisport Games.

World Obstacle is a democratic organisation formed by and for the athletes. It facilitates safety, fairness and opportunities for athletes to compete at every level, including World Championships, World Series, World Cups, and Continental Championships. This includes international results and rankings, officials, rule enforcement, coaching, training camps, event information, event services, news, education, adjudication and more.
ATHLETE ADVISORY COUNCIL
The Athlete Advisory Council (AAC) is a committee of elite athletes representing Ninja, OCR and Adventure Racing. The AAC provides opinion and advice on policies that affect obstacle sports worldwide. The AAC may appoint athletes to World Obstacle nominating committees, panels to resolve grievances, and any committee that prepares, approves or implements programs for the selection of international championships, Olympic, and Continental Games team members.
