The 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from May 5th to 17th, 2023, have already seen multiple World Obstacle World Records broken. This prestigious event, featuring over 12,000 participants from 11 countries, is the first time Cambodia has hosted the regional competition.

During the Obstacle Course Races (OCR) from May 3rd to 7th, two World Obstacle World Records were set. Jaymark Rodelas clocked in at an impressive 25.092 seconds in the OCR 100m Obstacle Course race, while Precious Cabuya completed the course in just 33.127 seconds. The 32nd SEA Games, also known as Cambodia 2023, showcases athletes competing in over three dozen sports. These include soccer, gymnastics, golf, martial arts, esports, and aquatics. The games are taking place at the newly developed Morodok Techo National Sports Complex, a Chinese-built stadium on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, with a capacity of 60,000.

Participating countries include Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam, and host Cambodia. This event aims to foster camaraderie, sportsmanship, and friendly competition among the nations of the region.

The opening ceremony, held on May 5th, 2023, attracted tens of thousands of spectators. The extravaganza featured a mesmerizing display of music, dance, lighting, and fireworks. Cambodia has embraced this opportunity to showcase its regional and international standing by providing free tickets for all events, covering food and accommodation expenses for participating sports delegations, and offering international broadcasters free live television coverage rights.
